Actor

In her final year of college, Laura’s first acting experience was a professional play. She was cast as Elizabeth Menard, a small role in The Coronation Voyage by Michel Marc Bouchard at the Belfry Theatre.  It was during this grand, symbolic production, while acting alongside compelling and seasoned actors, that Laura realized she needed to pursue this type of storytelling. After college she continued her studies in acting for the stage and screen. Favourite roles include Abby in The Mystery Plays (NVCP) and Sheree in The Dixie Swim Club (Peninsula Productions).  Currently, Laura has immersed herself practicing acting for the screen and studying with James Kot and Andrew McIlroy (McIlroy and associates).

Choreographer / Musical Theatre

Laura’s passion for creating movement has led her to choreograph for both stage and film.  She enjoys being able to focus on choreography which enhances the meaning of the story. Some favourite theatre projects include The Euphio Question (Little Mountain Lion), and The Jungle Book (Upstage Them).  Film highlights include choreography for both Send Us Smokes (Awkward Alien Prods) and Bedbugs: A Musical Love Story (Shadow Arts). Her independent short film, “I Did Something Bad” is an exploration of movement and emotion.

As a dancer, Laura trained in classical ballet, jazz and tap in Victoria, BC before studying Musical Theatre at The Canadian College of Performing Arts. As a musical theatre performer she’s been fortunate to work with such companies as Chemainus Theatre Festival, Gateway Theatre, Royal City Musical Theatre, and The Vancouver Playhouse.
